A major consortium has unveiled plans for the construction of the London Colosseum — a 25,000-seat indoor arena set to be built in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The project aims to become the leading venue for global esports events in the United Kingdom and strengthen London’s status as a world gaming capital.
The project is being developed by Jericho Estates, Peacock Gym, and Torch Sports.
Architecturally and commercially, the arena will primarily focus on esports and gaming. However, it will also serve as a multifunctional venue and is planned as a potential home for a future National Basketball Association franchise as well as world championship boxing events.
The new venue is intended to compete with the largest esports hubs in the Middle East and Asia. Thanks to a design by CHYBIK + KRISTOF ARCHITECTS, the arena will feature an adaptive bowl configuration.
