G2 player Mario malbsMd Samayoa gave an interview to Players correspondent Alex Kharchenko after the victory over FaZe at the BLAST Open London 2025.
You closed the first map quite good and fast. What can you tell me about the first map in terms of your team performance?
For that map he had a really good plan and it was very well executed. We should have won more rounds, we lost some entries and I should have played better. if I just won those duels, it would have been way better. But overall, we're just been really good.
On Dust 2 you made a comeback. What helped you to do this?
I think just having fresh blood and young people just helps us to have this good mentality of just not giving up, not just looking for the third map. We're always trying to look, if we're losing 12:7, we're always looking to get to 12:12, because if they manage to get 12, we can also get 12. So yeah, I think that's a good mentality that we have, and I think that's helping us.

Also, I'll say we have good calls on the team. We have good people that are willing to take initiative when we're down. And no matter if we're just down, as I said, we're not just staying back. We also try to take initiative and just look for duels.
Previously, you lost two of your main leaders. There is a rebuilding process happening right now. What can you say about it? Are you happy with the process with the new guys?
We have a good build system with Saw. And also, we have good voices in Hunter and SunPayus. And also, I'm having a good voice as well. I had to learn, so it's really good, I think. We have good voices and we have good leadership. I think that's the main thing.
But anyway, that will take some time to replace these people as they were really important for the roster. How long do you think you will take to get to the peak performance?
I think it's getting there. We're slowly learning from our mistakes and slowly just fixing everything that we need to fix to be a top team. And it's really good and it feels good.
You will be playing against FURIA. What are your thoughts about this team? They are on the rise right now. How are you planning to play against them?
I don't know. We just got to play our own game that is kind of aggressive and that kind of stuff, as usual. Just enjoying the game, not feeling the pressure, because they haven't played on stage for a long time. I mean, they just played Cologne, but it was just quarterfinals. They're going to play semi-finals now. I think we can take a little bit of advantage of that and they have a rookie as well. I think it's just going to be supporting everyone in the team, just enjoying the moment of being on the stage, playing a good tournament, playing with good teammates around. And just having a good plan and just following it, just how it is.
We have 4 teams left: Vitality, G2, FURIA and Mouz. How do you assess your chances of winning this tournament?
I think we're playing really well, as I said. I think we have a good chance to win a tournament. I don't want to jinx us, but if we just keep playing good, if we show good CS tomorrow, I think we're going to be confident enough to just go on the same path to the finals. We also need to do good at the finals, but if we show good CS tomorrow, I think we're going to be confident enough to show the same CS in the finals.
