Krafton, together with Level Infinite and Lightspeed Studios, announced the launch of a unique media project called PUBG MOBILE: Trial of Fire. The organizers describe it as the world’s first reality show in the battle royale genre.
Valve stated in a 42-page memorandum that punishing the company over so-called “loot boxes” or “cases” — where players can pay around $2.50 for an in-game item of varying rarity — could create a dangerous legal precedent. According to the developer, if New York classifies such mechanics as illegal gambling, the same logic could also apply to baseball cards, Happy Meal toys, Labubu figures, surprise comics, and even Pokémon trading cards.
