NAVI player Luis Guadalupe "DarkAngel" Castillo Gomez has been crowned the Esports World Cup 2026 Fatal Fury champion. In the tournament's Grand Final, he defeated Virtus.pro player mi2ha4 by a score of 5:1.

The victory earned the esports athlete $250,000 in prize money, as well as a direct invitation to the SNK World Championship 2026 Finals, which features a $2.5 million prize pool.

In addition, DarkAngel's success secured 1,000 EWC Club Championship points for NAVI, propelling the organization to the top of the overall club standings.

Luis began his tournament run in Group CC. Despite falling to Vxbao (2:3) in the Upper Bracket decider, he bounced back with convincing 3:0 victories over Pida and mok. The second group stage proved less challenging, as the NAVI representative defeated SCORE (Elite) 3:1 and Kindevu (Falcons) 3:2.

The playoff stage featured the toughest matches of his campaign. In the opening round against Reynald (Elite), the final spot in the next stage was decided in the last set, where Luis secured a dramatic 5:4 victory. He then overcame Nemo (SOL) 5:3 in the semifinals before defeating mi2ha4 (Virtus.pro) 5:1 in the Grand Final (the official playoff bracket also lists the result as 5:2) to claim the championship title.
