Esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) has officially confirmed the elimination of several operational and administrative positions within its Swedish division. The decision marks the completion of an internal reorganization process that began two months ago.
The layoffs affected only back-office and internal support functions as part of efforts to ensure the company’s long-term stability. At the same time, the organization’s competitive esports rosters will remain at their current international locations and will not be required to relocate.
The workforce optimization follows strategic changes first reported by Swedish outlet Expressen.se in April 2026. According to the publication, NIP Group is relocating most of its central business functions from Stockholm to Abu Dhabi. The headquarters move is linked to the signing of a five-year agreement worth approximately $47.5 million with the UAE government. The Stockholm facility is expected to remain operational only as a local venue for bootcamps.
As a reminder, a new trailer for the strategy game Becoming Pablo was unveiled during the Insider Gaming Showcase.
