PGL Wallachia Season 8: Format, Prize Pool, and Participants

PGL Wallachia Season 8 is a major Tier-1 Dota 2 tournament. The championship will take place from April 18 to April 26, 2026, in Bucharest, Romania. The venue is PGL Studio.

Tournament Participants

A total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament. All teams received direct invitations from the organizers. VP replaced OG due to the latter’s visa issues, while the paiN Gaming roster will compete under the tag South America Rejects, as the organization parted ways with the lineup. Among the participants is also the Ukrainian organization Natus Vincere.

Tournament Format

The tournament is divided into two main stages: the group stage and the playoffs.

The group stage will take place from April 18 to April 22. It will follow a Swiss-system format among all 16 teams. All matches in this stage will be played in a Best-of-3 format. The top eight teams will advance to the playoffs, while the remaining teams will be eliminated from the event.

The playoffs will be held from April 23 to April 26 and will use a double-elimination format. All upper and lower bracket matches will be played as Best-of-3. The grand final will be a Best-of-5 series.

Prize Pool

The total prize pool of PGL Wallachia Season 8 is $1,000,000. The prize money will be distributed among all participants as follows:

  • 1st place: $300,000
  • 2nd place: $175,000
  • 3rd place: $120,000
  • 4th place: $80,000
  • 5th–6th places: $60,000 each
  • 7th–8th places: $40,000 each
  • 9th–11th places: $20,000 each
  • 12th–14th places: $15,000 each
  • 15th–16th places: $10,000 each

In Ukrainian, PGL Wallachia Season 8 matches will be covered by Maincast on the company’s Twitch and YouTube channels. Matches will also be available on PGL’s official English-language channels.

Recall that ENVY terminated its contract with canezerra following a ban from Riot.
