GSC Game World has confirmed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope will launch on August 20, 2026. The release date was revealed in a brand new trailer.
In the expansion, Skif will journey toward the center of the Zone, where he must choose between the beliefs of Freedom and Duty while uncovering the secrets of a place that has remained inaccessible to stalkers until now.
The expansion is the first major story DLC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and will be released for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Alongside the expansion, GSC Game World will launch the free Update 2.0 for all owners of the base game.
The free Update 2.0 will migrate the game to a newer version of Unreal Engine 5 while introducing numerous gameplay improvements and additional content. GSC Game World said more details about the update will be revealed in the coming weeks.
