Sony Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland in the lead role. The latest joint project from Sony and Marvel Studios is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 31.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film takes place four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). According to the official synopsis, Peter Parker has fully dedicated himself to protecting New York City, where no one remembers his true identity. However, the strain of his responsibilities triggers an unexpected physical evolution that threatens his very existence. At the same time, a mysterious wave of new crimes leads to the emergence of one of the most powerful enemies Spider-Man has ever faced.
Returning cast members include Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, and Michael Mando. Footage shown during CinemaCon revealed that MJ (Zendaya) has moved on with a new boyfriend, forcing Peter to confront the reality that she is continuing her life without him. The cast has also been expanded with several newcomers, including Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Marvin Jones III.
