Ukrainian team B8 suffered a defeat against The MongolZ in the 0–1 bracket of Stage 3 at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 in CS2.

B8 selected Mirage as their map but had a disastrous start on the T side, falling behind 2–10 before mounting a comeback to level the score at 13–13. However, the Ukrainian squad ran out of momentum in overtime, allowing the Mongolian side to secure the map 16–14. It was B8’s fifth consecutive loss on Mirage.

The MongolZ then picked Overpass. The team delivered a dominant performance on the T side, winning the half 9–3 before claiming four more rounds in a row to close out the series 2–0.

Following this defeat, B8 finds itself on the verge of elimination from the tournament. The team now sits in the 0–2 bracket and can no longer afford another loss. To reach the playoffs, they must win three consecutive matches.

The MongolZ will play their next match in the 1–1 bracket.

IEM Cologne Major 2026 is taking place from June 2 to June 21 in Cologne. The tournament features a prize pool of $1.25 million.
