The action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker is among the most anticipated titles of 2026 in its genre, and a recent presentation by Polish studio Rebel Wolves has reinforced that expectation.
Veterans of CD Projekt led by The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz showcased new gameplay footage and revealed key details about the project.
The game is scheduled to launch on September 3, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Pre orders are already available.
Players will be able to choose between two editions:
If the Standard edition is purchased without pre-ordering, the DLC will have to be bought separately.
The presentation featured an atmospheric story trailer highlighting the core premise. The narrative revolves around a clan of ancient Carpathian vampires during the 14th century plague in Europe. Vampires are immune to the disease and can save humans, but this leads to an expansion of their power and partial transformation of humans into vampires.
The main character Coen is a peasant who must save his family within 30 in game days. To achieve this, he gains supernatural abilities while gradually losing his humanity. During the day he fights skillfully with a sword and blends in, while at night as a half vampire he uses magic, controls minds, climbs walls, and can transform into a wolf.
The game will feature morally complex choices, ambiguous characters, and multiple story paths. Time progresses while completing quests, and there is no division between main and side missions as all tasks carry equal weight and impact the narrative. Developers describe the project as the first entry in a large scale franchise.
