Apex Legends Open Qualifiers for Esports Nations Cup 2026 Kick Off: How EMEA Selection Works

On August 1, the open qualifiers for Apex Legends at the Esports Nations Cup 2026 officially launched. Over three days, through August 3, hundreds of teams will compete for the right to represent their country at the international tournament in Riyadh this November.

The selection process spans four regions: EMEA, Americas, APAC South, and APAC North. Up to 1,280 teams can participate in each region, with the qualifiers open to all players who meet the eligibility requirements.

In the EMEA region, 9 slots for the Esports Nations Cup 2026 final stage are up for grabs. A total of 18 final participants will be determined via open qualifiers:

• EMEA — 9 slots;
• Americas — 6 slots;
• APAC South — 3 slots;
• APAC North — 0 slots (representatives were already determined by ALGS rankings).

Unlike traditional tournaments, the open qualifiers do not feature a standard group stage. All registered teams go through a multi-round online bracket to determine the top contenders. However, only one team per country can advance to the final stage, regardless of how many teams from that nation participate in the qualifiers.

Ukraine boasts a strong presence in the EMEA qualifier, with seven Ukrainian rosters battling for a spot at the Esports Nations Cup 2026:

• MAVERI
• Hate mongers
• TLY

Despite this high number of participants, only one of these rosters will represent Ukraine at the final stage of the tournament.

UAIM is considered the main favorite among the Ukrainian teams, featuring Max-Strafe—one of the most successful Ukrainian players in Apex Legends history.

Over his career, Max has represented Natus Vincere, GMT Esports, Pioneers, and other renowned organizations, regularly competing in the ALGS Pro League and at international tournaments. Joining him on UAIM are Sanya and Elonzy, who also bring high-level competitive experience.

Alongside UAIM, other notable Ukrainian players are competing in the qualifier:

• Takami (TLY);
• Senpuky (Hate mongers);
• QUATREX (MAVERI);
• Xron (Ukraine).

The UAIM roster is widely regarded by many as the top contender among Ukrainian teams to secure the nation's sole ticket to the ENC 2026 finals.

The final stage of the Apex Legends Esports Nations Cup 2026 will feature 40 national teams and take place this November in Saudi Arabia. Half of the participants have already received direct invitations based on ALGS rankings, while the remaining spots will be filled through these open qualifiers.
