The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has released an official statement announcing the launch of an investigation and the immediate temporary suspension of the Peruvian Dota 2 team Clown Crew, which also competed under the tag BarrancoBar.

The investigation currently covers several matches and in-game incidents, including allegations related to:

  • unusual camera behavior and suspicious player-perspective actions;
  • questionable enemy ward dewarding and excessive map awareness;
  • reactions to opponents’ actions occurring outside normal vision or available information;
  • possible use of radar hacks, second-screen information, unauthorized external information, or other prohibited assistance;
  • possible awareness, facilitation, benefit, or complicity from other team members.

At least three matches are currently under review (Game IDs: 8790064789, 8774123157, and 8774206273). Particular attention is being paid to the actions of the player known as “Accel.” ESIC is also investigating whether other members of the roster were aware of the alleged violations, assisted in them, or benefited from them.

In addition to direct cheating allegations, ESIC is examining possible links between these incidents and esports betting, match manipulation, and failure to report integrity violations, which could damage the reputation of esports as a whole.

During the investigation, ESIC has imposed strict temporary sanctions. The following individuals have been suspended from all ESIC-member competitions:

  • all registered players of the Clown Crew / BarrancoBar roster;
  • substitute players, coaches, analysts, managers, and team staff;
  • any individuals who acted on behalf of the team during the investigated matches.

ESIC emphasized that the suspension is a temporary precautionary measure and not a final verdict. If sanctions are later imposed, the suspension period will be taken into account.

As part of the open investigation process, the commission has already issued official requests for evidence. The accused parties are required to provide internal communications, gameplay recordings, device information, and financial records.

As a reminder, a new flavor of Non Stop S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Limited Edition may appear very soon.
