Riot Games has announced the return of League of Legends Game Changers: Rising — the premier women’s competition series in the EMEA region.
The tournament has received a major overhaul and will now run from May through October. The new format kicks off on May 29–31 and will consist of several stages in which teams compete for qualification points. The six highest-ranked teams in the overall standings will secure spots in the October playoffs, where they will be joined by invited teams from national inclusive leagues.
The league will now be operated by the N.E.O. agency, which is already responsible for League of Legends EMEA Masters, EVO France, and international Rocket League events in partnership with BLAST.
Representatives of Riot Games emphasized that the development of Game Changers is not only about competition, but also about creating opportunities for women in the EMEA region to compete at the highest level and receive proper recognition for their achievements.
Reminder: Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is being developed by BioWare veterans.
